Releases (SUBOST)
Sub Ost is the dedicated soundtrack imprint of Subsound Records. Founded around 2016, the label was created with a highly focused and carefully curated mission: to rediscover and reissue rare, cult, and long-forgotten film soundtracks, many of them never before released on vinyl.

Sub Ost places a strong emphasis on the golden age of Italian cult cinema, spanning from the late 1960s through the 1980s. The label approaches film scores not merely as cinematic accompaniment, but as standalone avant-garde works of art in their own right.

Its catalog is remarkably eclectic, exploring a wide range of cult genres including Poliziotteschi & Giallo, Thriller, Horror & Science Fiction, and Drama. Sub Ost’s releases feature works by some of the most legendary composers in film history, often enriched with previously unreleased versions, rare outtakes, and fully restored expanded tracklists.

Among the label’s most notable releases are:
Ennio Morricone – Città Violenta (Violent City) and Gli Intoccabili (The Invisible Woman); Guido De Angelis & Maurizio De Angelis – Roma Violenta; Piero Piccioni – Una Tomba Aperta... Una Bara Vuota; Fabio Frizzi – Manhattan Baby by Lucio Fulci, the label’s very first release (SUBOST 001), which established its deep connection with the legendary soundscapes of Italian horror cinema.

Much like its parent label Subsound Records, Sub Ost treats every release as a true collector’s item.
